Skiing Injury, Death

A ten year-old girl died as a result of a skiing injury the Chicago Tribune reported.  The accident happened last year on New Year’s Day in Traverse City, Michigan, at Crystal Mountain.  The report states that young girl was getting a skiing lesson when she lost control, hitting a tree.

While injuries can happen while engaging in sporting events, many of them never should.  This is particularly true in cases where the victim is under the guidance of an instructor.  It is the job of the instructor to not only instruct but also protect the student from harm.  When the instructor fails to do that, the results are often catastrophic.
