New Illinois Laws for 2016 Concussions
Continuing our look at new laws for 2016, new regulations regarding Concussions are among the hundreds of new laws passed by Illinois lawmakers that took effect on January 1, 2016.
Concussions – A new law now mandates all Illinois high schools must have a Concussion Oversight Team. This team must develop a “return to learn and play” protocol for student athletes who have suffered a concussion while playing for the school sports team. Recovering students must be supported by the school staff and plans must be put in place to help injured students get back on track academically and with the sports team.
Additional new laws for 2016 include new drunk driving laws, changes to traffic tickets, and new nursing home regulations regarding the safety of nursing home residents.
