Holiday Travel Safety Part 2 Airport Safety

by Dixon Law Office

Travel organization AAA predicts the number of holiday travelers this year will top 100 million for the first time ever. While it is a joyous and festive time of year, it can also be a very dangerous time to be on the road, in airports and in parking garages. Travel booking site Orbitz.com recently released its annual “Insider Index” for the upcoming season. The research found the busiest day for Christmas air travel is December 23, which is the day before Christmas Eve. Holiday travelers will find airports least hectic on December 27.

Airport Safety– Navigating your way through the airport up and down escalators and moving sidewalks and dodging golf carts or harried travelers is an adventure unto itself. Sometimes, defective and dangerous conditions can lead to accidents like falls on jetways and boarding ramps, slippery floors and escalators. Malfunctioning baggage carousels and tarmac bus collisions are other injuries that occur in airports. Experts suggest plotting your connections carefully to allow time for weather and flight delays. Allowing adequate time between flights will lessen the need to sprint frantically through the airport, which could lead to injuries.

If you or a loved one has been injured in a serious accident at the airport this holiday season, you should discuss your case with an experienced personal injury attorney. For more than 20 years, our team has helped victims recover compensation to cover medical bills, long-term care, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other related expenses.
