Bobby Labonte Injured in Cycling Crash
Former NASCAR Sprint Cup Series champion Bobby Labonte will not be racing number 51 this Sunday in Atlanta. An avid cyclist, Labonte was riding his bike near his home in Trinity, North Carolina when he fell and broke three ribs. The injury has put Labonte’s back-up in the driver’s seat for the big race on Sunday in Atlanta.
The injury to a famous race car driver shows how seriously injuries can affect all of us. Injuries usually cause serious pain. We all understand that. But what is often forgotten is how these injuries affect the victim’s life. Injuries make everything difficult. And while few of us drive for a NASCAR team, in many cases the injuries suffered after a crash make it impossible to go to work and do your job. This can result in another problem: loss of income from missing work.
