Fire Chief Charged In Bicycle Hit and Run
A man driving a pick-up truck at 60 miles per hour is accused of swerving into a bike lane and striking a cyclist. The pick-up driver continued on, leaving the bicyclist on the shoulder of the road with major head trauma. Witnesses who saw the impact followed him until he reached his home. Once there, witnesses called local police. The driver, a local fire captain, is now facing felony charges in connection with the hit-and-run. He is also accused of driving while under the influence.
