Pool Safety – Drain Covers Recalled

Summer is pool season.  Whether you swim in a neighborhood pool or one in your backyard, you assume the pool has been designed and maintained properly.  Sadly, that is frequently not the case.  The Consumer Products Safety Commission has announced a recall of more than 1,000,000 pool drains and covers.  The recalled drain covers were incorrectly rated to handle the flow of water through the cover, which could pose a possible entrapment hazard to swimmers and bathers.  “The flow through these covers is so strong, just being next to them can suck a swimmer in and cause them to be trapped.  Once trapped, the swimmer can drown and die,” Dixon Law Office founder G.
