What Parents Need to Know About the New LATCH System Rules
The vast majority of car seats for children are installed incorrectly. Back in 2002, the US government mandated all cars come with a system to attach car seats called LATCH (lower anchors and tethers for children). While the system works well when used correctly, they have limits and most parents simply don’t know them. In an effort likely designed to try and protect auto manufacturers from litigation, manufacturing trade groups have lead a charge to change the labeling on for the system. The new labeling system and other changes go into effect in February of 2014. To learn more about the changes, click here
