Juries have taken a beating in the last couple decades.  Politicians, pundits, prisoners, and insurance companies like to poke fun at juries.  They hate juries when they don’t do what they want.  The love juries when they give them what they think is justice.  Many would like to abolish juries.

While I have not agreed with every jury verdict I have seen, I have never, ever, seen a jury of people assembled and sworn to do their job ever take their jury service lightly.  In every case, people serving on juries are considered in their judgment and trying to figure out the right answer.  Every time.

Usually, the people complaining about juries are the people who are doing INjustice to others.  Bad guys fear juries.  The powerful companies bent on hurting the little guy fear juries.  The powerful fear juries.  Why?  Because their power is equalized by 12 people sitting in judgment.
