Pool Safety
It’s summer time! And here at DLO we want your family to have the most fun in the sun possible and to stay out of harm’s way. So we put together a list of things to look out for when you’re laying out poolside this summer. With almost 7.4 million pools in the US, swimming is actually the third most popular sport in the United States, and along with that comes several common injuries that can occur. Some of the most common injuries, according to Consumer Watch are “Drain entrapment, falling on slippery walkways, decks, diving boards, or ladders, striking the bottom or sides of a pool in shallow water, drowning, and injuries from diving boards or pool slides.” While you may feel the urge to slap water wings on all your children there are simple ways to prevent injuries from the pool.
One way is to check that drain covers in the pool are not broken or missing, you can do this either by having the lifeguards show you or checking the covers yourself. Another simple way is to just not leave young children unattended with floating toys in order to greatly lessen the chance of entrapment. You can read more about safety tips poolside here.
The reality is that pool accidents do happen, and when they do you need a lawyer that you can trust. Here at Dixon Law office we have a qualified team of lawyers that will do anything to help you get the compensation you deserve, contact us at toll-free at 888-354-9880, or click here for a free consultation.
